Alfie

Alfie came into Canine Cupids with his six other brothers and sisters back in January of this year. You may know them as the A-Litter. Back then they were about 3 months old and they were all intakes from MADACC. They found themselves at animal control after being abandoned in a car. They quickly made their way into foster care and then split up to be adopted out to various families. By the spring of this year, all seven dogs had been adopted!

As we all know, circumstances in our lives change, and unfortunately Alfie had to come back to our rescue. It’s not what we want for our Cupids, but we put a clause in our contracts that we will take back foster dogs if circumstances change so that we ensure they don’t end up back in a shelter environment.

So in September, one of our amazing foster families had an opening in their home and went to pick Alfie up to bring him back into rescue. Since then, Alfie has been hard at work getting in tip top shape for his future furever home. He’s been doing lots of canine fitness and agility to work on his stamina. And his foster family has put him through training bootcamp so he now knows things like: wait, touch, down, relax, leave it, and heel. And now he’s ready for the next phase of his life: his furever home.

There’s a lot that goes into dog rescue and we are proud of being a fully volunteer-run rescue. We have amazing foster families and volunteers that make all of this happen! But we still can’t do it without donations from our supporters. Because we are volunteer-run, your donations can go fully towards the dogs in our care. Canine Cupids uses donations for things like supplies, medical care, and training resources.

Help us this #GivingTuesday by donating to our GivingGrid. For every dollar donated, up to $2,000, we have a generous, anonymous donor willing to match your gift! Make your donation go twice as far and donate today!

And don't forget you can apply to adopt Alfie too!
