Paws In Update!

First and foremost, we, the Canine Cupids Board of Directors, would like to thank Paws In, their volunteers, and their supporters for all of the time, work, and supplies that they have donated to our rescue. Since its start, Paws In has raised an exceptional amount of funds for Canine Cupids, housed supplies for our foster dogs, donated items for fundraising events, and even held their own events supporting our rescue. We know that they put a tremendous amount of work into the store and helping ensure rescue dogs are well-supplied and it does not go unnoticed!

This past weekend was the last weekend that Paws In dedicated its sales to Canine Cupids. Paws In has some amazing volunteers, doing amazing work and it has grown past what our small rescue can support administratively. Which is why we are excited to share that Paws In’s new partner will be Friends of MADACC! If you are not familiar with Friends of MADACC, they are the non-profit association that supports the Milwaukee Area Domestic Animal Control Commission (MADACC), funding exciting projects at the shelter, sponsoring adoption fees for dogs and cats, organizing community clinics, offering free spay/neuter services, and more. Friends of MADACC has the capacity and volunteers to support more open hours at the store and really help it reach its maximum potential.

Currently, Canine Cupids has nine dogs in its care that it pulled from MADACC and over the past five years has pulled over 100 dogs from MADACC alone (and the year isn’t even over yet)! We have many volunteers that foster for us and support our rescue that also volunteer walking dogs and doing adoption counseling at MADACC. So, we couldn’t be happier to see this amazing community resource supporting a new phenomenal organization.

What does this mean for Canine Cupids? We are going to be re-focusing our fundraising efforts to focus more on our adoptable dogs. We will still take donations of supplies for our fosters, but we will be looking into a new system that will allow us to do this.

We are thankful for everything that Paws In has done for Canine Cupids, and excited to see they are continuing to support animal rescue in our area. We hope that all of you will continue to support them, and we will as well!
